Many dynamics such as modernization, urbanization, class relations, and developments in technology and health cause changes in the demographic structure around the world. Statistical data reveal that the world population is aging, with increases in average life expectancy and decreases in birth rates. "Aging Population and Elderly People", the first of the Policy Brief series, deals with aging in the world and in Turkiye with topics such as work, poverty, health, social security, and life satisfaction.
